Special Weather Statement issued December 24 at 6:46AM PST by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
At 645 AM PST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Santa Paula to 21 miles southwest of Point
Dume. Movement was northeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. A brief weak tornado is
possible.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Thousand Oaks…
Camarillo…
Fillmore…
Western Malibu…
Moorpark…
Santa Paula…
Point Mugu State Park…
Newbury Park…
Somis…
and Naval Base Ventura County.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
