Tracking tropical swells & a toasty Tuesday
We start the morning with clear skies and just a few hours of marine clouds for many areas north of Gaviota. Expect bright and toasty conditions this evening. Highs rise into the 70s, 80s and 90s. A large tropical swell is expected today as Tropical Storm Elida pushes pash the California Coastline. The High Surf Advisory and Beach Hazard Statements remain in effect for west facing beaches. Use caution when headed into the waters.
A Heat Advisory was issued for the Ventura county community along with inland portions of Santa Maria and Santa Barbara from 10am Wednesday through Monday of next week. Temperatures could reach up to 105 degrees and heat related illness is possible. Expect peak heating on Wednesday for most with minimal day to day differences into next week. Morning clouds and fog will clear quickly for all areas. Sundowner winds are possible.
