Elderly woman struck and killed while crossing Cochran Street Tuesday afternoon

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KEYT) – An 89-year-old woman was hit and killed Tuesday afternoon while crossing Cochran Street.

The identity of the deceased is pending notification of her next of kin shared the Simi Valley Police Department.

On April 14, around 4:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Cochrane Street, east of Stearns Street stated a press release Wednesday from the Simi Valley Police Department.

Arriving officers found an 89-year-old woman who appears to have been walking southbound across Cochran Street when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle detailed the Simi Valley Police Department.

According to Simi Valley Police, the driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators and there is currently no indication that drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the fatal collision.
