State and Local Agencies Respond to Beached Vessel on Southern Santa Barbara County Coast

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – On Thursday, a beached vessel was found along the beaches of southern Santa Barbara County.

According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Office of Spill Prevention and Response, no oil discharges have been observed and no oiled wildlife have been spotted at this point in the response.

The statewide agency shared it is coordinating a salvage/recovery plan to get the vessel from the local beach alongside the U.S. Coast Guard which has been complicated by the tides.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has been tasked with verifying the owner and registration for the vessel added the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
