(CNN) — Catherine O’Hara, who starred in legendary films “Beetlejuice” and “Home Alone” before taking a star turn as Moira Rose on “Schitt’s Creek,” has died. She was 71.

O’Hara’s death was confirmed to CNN by a staff member at the office of her manager Marc Gurvitz. The person declined to provide their name or further details.

O’Hara got her start at Second City in her native Canada, before turning to film. Her roles in “Beetlejuice” (1988) and “Home Alone” (1990) won wide acclaim. Soon, she turned to collaborating with director Christopher Guest, starring in many of his iconic mockumentaries, including “Waiting for Guffman” (1996) and “Best in Show” (1996).

This is a developing story.
