Special Weather Statement issued February 17 at 2:58AM PST by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA

At 255 AM PST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong shower capable of
producing gusty winds, small hail, near Faria Beach, or 7 miles
northwest of Ventura, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph, and pea size hail. A waterspout
may come ashore.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to
vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include…
Ventura…Ventura Harbor…Solimar Beach…and Seacliff.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in OXNARD.
