Advocacy Group: Puerto Rico Mandate Needs Tightening

Puerto Rico has approved and will implement this month a lameness exam for all imported horses of racing age. Caribbean Equine Advocacy has identified five areas the mandate could be circumvented and weaken the purpose of the new rule.

Last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) winner Cy Fair will skip the King Charles III Stakes (G1) June 16 during the Royal Ascot meet in England, according to trainer George Weaver, abandoning the original plans announced last month.
