Another record was broken in Santa Maria on Monday at 91 beating 89 degrees. Northeast Santa Lucia winds and clear skies will keep the Central Coast warmer than the south coast. The marine layer is helping beaches south of Point Conception stay cooler. Offshore winds will help temperatures rise in and around Santa Barbara later this week. A heat advisory is in effect for North Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, with chances of that being extended though Friday.
