Heat advisory Tuesday, tracking coastal fog

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week before a slow cooling trend.

Another record was broken in Santa Maria on Monday at 91 beating 89 degrees.

Northeast Santa Lucia winds and clear skies will keep the Central Coast warmer than the south coast.

The marine layer is helping beaches south of Point Conception stay cooler. Offshore winds will help temperatures rise in and around Santa Barbara later this week.

A heat advisory is in effect for North Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, with chances of that being extended though Friday.

All temperatures will cool by early next week with light rain or spring showers to return in early April.
