Warm Wednesday, tracking rain & thunderstorm chances this weekend

Two warm days ahead before rain chances and cooler weather arrive this weekend. High pressure dominates the forecast Wednesday bringing a few clouds in the morning and a fast clearing trend. Expect highs to rise into the 70s and low 80s today with breezy winds at times. Overnight lows drop into the 40s and 50s.

Temperatures ease slightly Thursday as high pressure begins to break down. Maximum temperatures rise into the upper 70s once again. Cloud coverage will be similar to previous days or all microclimates. Dense fog arrives in Paso Robles to start the morning with a slow clearing pattern. Well above average by 2pm for most areas. Winds will pick up after lunch. No watches, warnings or advisories expected.

Rain begins Friday afternoon into the weekend. We are tracking two different systems to bring rain chances with the first round of light rain occurring Friday. This is a small system set to bring up to a third of an inch of rain for most of the area. Intermittent thunderstorms and heavier showers arrive Saturday and Sunday. These systems will add up to a half an inch to an inch in some local areas. More details to come. Temperatures take a hit and drop back to below average. Skies turn mostly cloudy and winds pick up.
