(KEYT) – A parent and their student were hit while riding an e-bike outside of Pine Grove Elementary Thursday morning. The parent was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries and the student appeared to be uninjured, but were taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation shared the school's Principal. The collision happened near Pine Grove Elementary's upper parking lot on Bradley Road around 7:57 a.m. Thursday noted Principal Boyd in a message to parents and guardians. The California Highway Patrol-Santa Maria Area confirmed their officers are looking into the incident and more information about their investigation will be released later today. Counseling services have been made available for anyone who saw what happened and might need to talk to somebody shared the Orcutt Union School District.
