Light rain chances ahead, Sunday May 3rd forecast

Overcast Pier

A strong onshore flow brought in plenty of cloud cover which for some coastal areas, didn't burn off all day. Look for more fog for the overnight with some drizzle possible. Highs on Sunday will stay on the cool side with most areas only topping out in the low to mid 60's Drizzle and or light rain will be possible through Sunday night and In to early Monday.

Looking ahead, a late season storm system will make a run at the West Coast through late Sunday and in to the new work week. The system is moisture starved as is the normal for this of year. However, with the deep marine layer in place, there could be a few light showers or drizzle as the low stirs things up. If any measurable rainfall occurs, it would most likely be less than a tenth of an inch on the high end. Temperatures will fall through early next week with the heavy cloud cover. Look for highs to be mostly in the low to mid 60's through Monday with some warming for Tuesday and Wednesday. As the system pushes farther east, northwesterly winds will kick up and bring more sunshine and warming as we move toward the end of the work week and in to next weekend. Temperatures by next Friday could be very warm with some inland areas possibly reaching in to the upper 80's and 90's.
