"Ms. Spears took responsibility for this misdemeanor offense, entering a guilty plea at the earliest
stage and two months from the day she was arrested," stated District Attorney Erik Nasarenko.
"Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and doing so recklessly and erratically is an
extremely serious crime endangering everyone on our roads and freeways."

Spears' probation terms include submitting to chemical testing for alcohol and drugs while driving, not operating any vehicle with an intoxicant in her system, and agreeing to search terms related to drugs or alcohol in a vehicle she is operating noted the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.

According to the local prosecutor's office, Spears is also required to continue substance abuse and mental health treatment.

"Our goal is not only to hold individuals accountable, but to support long-term behavioral change
through treatment and rehabilitation," noted District Attorney Nasarenko. "The court has put those
conditions in place. It is now up to Ms. Spears to follow them."

Prosecutors initially filed a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and Monday's plea resolved the legal claims consistent with cases involving defendants with no prior DUI history, a low blood alcohol level, and no collision explained the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.
