MEXICALI, Mexico (KYMA) – Roxana, de 40 años de edad, madre del menor que murió al ser olvidado al interior de su vehículo por más de 12 horas, podría enfrentar la pena máxima y pasar hasta 15 años de prisión, es lo que busca la Fiscalía General de Baja California, de acuerdo a su titular, María Elena Andrade.

Homicidio con dolo, es el delito que buscará fincarle, al no solo haber estado consciente sino haber ingerido alcohol cuando estaba al cuidado del menor.

“Quiere decir que se advierte conforme a la investigación de la fiscalía, y la muerte de ese pequeño no es simplemente culposas o un descuido. Si no hay un dolo eventual hay una intención que está detrás de esos actos para terminar con la vida del pequeño” declaró en conferencia de prensa la fiscal.

Este martes, se desarrolló una audiencia, por horas, se mostraron mensajes y pruebas donde se le señala que Roxana habría continuado ingiriendo alcohol al interior de su vivienda, incluso estuvo activa en redes sociales cuando el menor continuaba amarrado en su silla al interior del vehículo. Tras más de 9 horas de audiencia, donde estuvo presente el padre del menor, quien ya no era pareja de la misma, se determinó que Roxana continuará en prisión hasta la audiencia de vinculación a proceso.

SAN LUIS, Mexico (KYMA) – Durante la madrugada del 5 de mayo, un incendio en una vivienda de tipo colectivo en San Luis Río Colorado dejó como saldo el fallecimiento de una persona, cuya identidad aún no ha sido confirmada por las autoridades.

El siniestro se registró en el cruce de las calles Revolución y Cuauhtémoc, hasta donde acudieron elementos del cuerpo de Bomberos Voluntarios tras recibir el reporte de una casa en llamas.

Al sofocar el incendio y realizar una inspección al interior del inmueble, los bomberos localizaron a una persona sin vida. Tras una revisión inicial, confirmaron que ya no contaba con signos vitales.

De acuerdo con los primeros reportes, la vivienda funcionaba como un inmueble de tipo colectivo, en el que varias personas habitaban en cuartos individuales, lo que podría complicar la identificación de la víctima.

Elementos de seguridad acordonaron la zona para permitir el trabajo de peritos y personal de investigación, quienes llevaron a cabo las diligencias correspondientes, así como el levantamiento del cuerpo.

Hasta el momento, no se han dado a conocer las causas que originaron el incendio, ni la identidad de la persona fallecida. Las autoridades continúan con las investigaciones para esclarecer lo ocurrido.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (KEYT) - May is National Mental Health Awareness Month and San Luis Obispo County's line-up of events encourages open communication.

Advocates say over sixty million Americans experience adversity with their mental health in some way and the most effective remedy is conversation.

SLO County's Behavioral Health Department is holding several events throughout the month of May, including a resource fair at Thursday's Farmer's Market called "Connect and Thrive".

On May 16th, at the Cal Poly campus, the department's partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention provides the "Out of Darkness Walk".

And May 19th's annual Bike Breakfast at the Prevention and Outreach Office highlights the benefits physical exercise brings to mental health.
