(CNN) — On paper, the American job market appears to be on relatively strong ground. Last month, employers hired 115,000 new workers, nearly double what economists forecast. And, at 4.3%, the unemployment rate is still at a historic low.

But surveys and other sources of labor market data indicate that Americans are struggling to find a job. For instance, the number of workers who are involuntarily working part-time jobs has been steadily rising while the rate at which employers are hiring new workers has been declining.

If you’re in the market for a new job and are experiencing difficulty getting hired, we’d like to hear from you for possible inclusion in an upcoming article.

What the numbers tell us about hantavirus

The cruise ship MV Hondius sits off Praia

By Jen Christensen, CNN

(CNN) — Health authorities across several countries are racing to trace and contain an outbreak of hantavirus after the World Health Organization said that five confirmed infections had been identified among people connected to the cruise ship MV Hondius.

The virus is typically associated with rodents, but it may have passed from human to human aboard the vessel, according to WHO. Since April 11, three people from the ship have died, while a handful of others are sick.

The outbreak was first reported to WHO on May 2 and remains a low risk to the general public, the organization says. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has classified its hantavirus response as level 3, the agency’s lowest level of emergency, according to a person involved in the situation.

Spanish authorities will conduct a full epidemiological investigation and disinfect the ship after it docks in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, where WHO believes the port has the right conditions for passengers to safely disembark.

Here are the details by the numbers so far.

How many people are potentially exposed?

  • As of Friday there are 147 people – 87 passengers and 60 crew members – aboard the MV Hondius, according to Oceanwide Exploration.
  • Those on board represent 24 nationalities, including 17 Americans.
  • Authorities have said they’re completing additional contact tracing of 82 passengers and six crew members from an April 25 Airlink flight to Johannesburg from Saint Helena that a Dutch woman who had been on the ship took before she died.
  • KLM said authorities in the Netherlands have also reached out to an undisclosed number of passengers on a second flight that the Dutch woman briefly boarded in Johannesburg. She left the 11:15 p.m. flight, KL592, before it took off because she was too sick to fly. A flight attendant who had experienced symptoms tested negative, WHO told CNN.
  • British health authorities said on Friday that two UK nationals have confirmed hantavirus cases, and there is an additional suspected case of a British national who disembarked the ship on the island of Tristan da Cunha.
  • Swiss authorities are carrying out additional contact tracing for people who came into contact with a passenger who left the MV Hondius in late April and is being treated at a Swiss hospital, according to Switzerland’s health ministry. The patient’s wife, who was also on the trip, has not reported symptoms and is isolating as a precaution, the Swiss health ministry said.
  • In the United States, five states — Arizona, California, Georgia, Texas and Virginia — say they’re monitorin
