Los premios Golden Raspberry, conocidos como los premios Razzie, que reconocen las que considera las peores producciones del cine, anunciaron sus nominaciones de 2026, lideradas por las películas “Blanca Nieves” y “War of the Worlds”, con seis menciones cada una.

Además de “Blanca Nieves” y “War of the Worlds”, la edición 46 de estos premios en clave de parodia también nominó en la categoría de peor película de 2025 a “The Electric State”, “Hurry Up Tomorrow” y “Star Trek: Section 31”.

El cantante canadiense The Weeknd, que usa como actor su nombre original de Abel Tesfaye, fue nominado en la categoría de peor actor por su participación en la película “Hurry Up Tomorrow”. Lo acompañan en este renglón Dave Bautista (“In the Lost Lands”), Ice Cube (“War of the Worlds”), Scott Eastwood (“Alarum”) y Jared Leto (“Tron: Ares”).

En el rubro de peor actriz resultaron nominadas Ariana DeBose (“Love Hurts”), Milla Jovovich (“In the Lost Lands”), Natalie Portman (“Fountain of Youth”), Rebel Wilson (“Bride Hard”) y Michelle Yeoh (“Star Trek: Section 31”).

Los ganadores de los premios Razzie 2026 serán anunciados este 14 de marzo.

(CNN) — The outline of a hand made with red pigment on the wall of a cave in Indonesia at least 67,800 years ago may be the world’s oldest rock art, according to a new study.

The faded hand stencil, along with other spectacular cave paintings on the island of Sulawesi, were likely made by early humans who were part of a population that spread into a lost continent known as Sahul, which today encompasses Australia, Papua New Guinea and parts of Indonesia.

“They’re made with ochre. They put their hand there, and then they sprayed pigment. We can’t tell which technique they used. They could have put pigment in their mouth and sprayed it. They could have used some sort of instrument,” said Maxime Aubert, an archaeologist and geochemist from Griffith University in Australia. Aubert, who was the senior author of a study on the findings that published on Wednesday in the journal Nature, described the discovery as “thrilling and humbling.”

The minimum age of the hand stencil, which was modified at some point to create distinctive narrowed fingers, is older than dozens of other examples of prehistoric art found preserved in the region’s intriguing limestone caves. Another example is a scene involving part human and part animal figures hunting a warty pig, the oldest evidence of storytelling in art history.

“What we are seeing in Indonesia is probably not a series of isolated surprises, but the gradual revealing of a much deeper and older cultural tradition that has simply been invisible to us until recently,” said Aubert.

The new study surveyed 44 sites in southeastern Sulawesi and securely dated 11 rock art motifs, including seven hand stencils. The team found the oldest hand stencil in Metanduno cave on Muna island. The cave also features much fresher images of horses, deer and pigs that were painted perhaps 3,500 to 4,000 years ago, the study said. These paintings have long been a draw for tourists.

Dating cave art is tricky and the team used a technique that analyzed chemical traces in mineral crusts that form on top of the paintings, sometimes called cave popcorn, to provide a minimum age for the art.

The rock art in Sulawesi is also older than Europe’s famed cave art, such as Lascaux in France, and a hand stencil suspected to have been made by Neanderthals in a Spanish cave.

Prehistoric Picassos

The prehistoric people who made the hand stencils were most likely early members of our own species, Homo sapiens, who lived in Southeast Asia during the ice age. At that time, sea levels were much lower, and the region looked very different, the study noted.

Aubert said that after the humans made the hand stencils, they narrowed the fingers, making them look like claws. He regarded the negative imprints of hands as examples of art that reveal complex behavior— even though the stencils aren’t figurative or narrative like the captivating scene of a warty pig hunt.

For example, he said the hands were marking places that mattered to the artists. “This was not a casual activity. It required planning, shared knowledge and cultural meaning.”

The hand stencils were materially different from a 73,000 year-old stone flake uncovered in a South African cave that featured lines, which some had called the oldest known drawing. Aubert noted the lines were abstract and might not have been an intentional image.

Hace poco más de seis años, Mia Tretta recibió un disparo en el estómago por parte de un estudiante en su escuela secundaria en Santa Clarita, California.

Sobrevivió, pero otras dos personas murieron ese día. Tras recuperarse, regresó al campus para terminar sus estudios de secundaria porque “estar con las personas que vivieron esto conmigo era la mejor opción”, declaró Tretta a CNN el lunes.

Tretta ha elegido ese camino de nuevo, regresando esta semana a la Universidad de Brown, escenario de un tiroteo masivo el mes pasado.

“Es decir, ya he pasado por esto”, dijo Tretta a CNN antes del inicio del semestre de primavera este miércoles. “Hace seis años, tuve que regresar a un campus donde faltaban dos estudiantes. Y ahora estoy aquí de nuevo, y en el campus faltan dos personas”.

Tretta fue una de las estudiantes de Brown que hablaron con CNN con motivo del reinicio de las clases, en medio de las constantes preguntas sobre la seguridad en el campus y cómo asignar responsabilidades por el tiroteo que dejó a la comunidad universitaria ansiosa y conmocionada.

“Es tan injusto que todos en este campus tengan que regresar y estén asustados y nerviosos”, dijo Tretta. “No saben qué esperar, y yo tampoco”.

Ha pasado un mes desde que un exalumno de 48 años abrió fuego dentro de un edificio de ingeniería del campus el 13 de diciembre, matando a los estudiantes Ella Cook y MukhammadAziz Umurzokov e hiriendo a otros nueve.

El presunto autor de los disparos, Claudio Neves Valente, logró huir del estado y dos días después mató a tiros a Nuno Loureiro, profesor del MIT y excompañero de clase del sospechoso, según las autoridades. Neves Valente fue encontrado muerto por suicidio en un almacén de Nueva Hampshire el 18 de diciembre.

El sospechoso admitió los ataques en una serie de videos cortos que las autoridades recuperaron de un dispositivo electrónico, según la Fiscalía del Distrito de Massachusetts. En los videos, Valente no ofreció un motivo, ni disculpas, por los ataques.

El Departamento de Educación anunció una investigación para determinar si la universidad de la Ivy League violó la ley federal en materia de normas de seguridad. El FBI también ha sido criticado por no haber capturado al sospechoso a tiempo para evitar más violencia. Strasbourg, France (CNN) — A key group of European Parliament members blocked a vote to ratify a US-European trade deal Wednesday after President Donald Trump threatened to take over Greenland and charge as much as an additional 35% tariff on countries opposed to his ambitions.

“EU-US Deal on ice indefinitely!” Bernd Lange, chair of Parliament’s trade committee, said in a post on X.

It’s unclear if the entire trade agreement, which called for 15% tariffs on European Union goods shipping to the US, has been called off or if parts that have already gone into effect will remain that way. The EU and the US came to a preliminary deal in July, putting much of it into effect before it was signed.

The news came as Trump told the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that he did not intend to use force to acquire Greenland. But he emphasized repeatedly a demand that Europe effectively give Greenland to the United States.
