Mick Jagger, el líder vocalista de la banda The Rolling Stones, dijo el sábado en el podcast “The Interview” de The New York Times, conducido por David Marchese, que los fans no van a los conciertos a que les den sermones políticos.

El músico, de 82 años, dio estas declaraciones a propósito de la gira “Land of Hope and Dreams 2026”, de Bruce Springsteen, que concluyó el pasado 27 de mayo, y en la que el compositor de “Born in the U.S.A.” criticó a la administración Trump e interpretó su nueva canción “Streets of Minneapolis”, su himno de protesta anti-ICE, escrito tras las muertes de Renee Nicole Good y Alex Pretti a manos de agentes federales.

El conductor del podcast le preguntó a Jagger “¿Qué significa para ti tu relación con el público? ¿Qué representan para ti todas esas personas allá afuera?”, a lo que la estrella de rock respondió: “La esencia de lo que hago realmente es que mi trabajo en el mundo de la música en vivo es (para) esas personas que vienen, hacer que se lo pasen lo mejor posible”.

Explicó que su misión “durante dos horas o el tiempo que sea, (es) para (que el público) olvide todos sus problemas y los problemas del mundo y sus hipotecas y lo que sea, simplemente para darles el mejor momento que puedan tener”, añadió.

Jagger explicó que los conciertos deberían ayudar a la gente a evadirse de las presiones de la vida cotidiana. “Es similar a ir a un evento deportivo, en realidad, porque todo lo demás se grita. Solo estás viendo quién va a ganar. No te preocupas por todo lo demás. No quieres darles una lección”.

En el podcast, el cantante alegó que no se opone a que la política se infiltre en su música; simplemente prefiere un enfoque más sutil. “He adquirido la costumbre de hacer canciones que tratan sobre relaciones personales y luego incluyo una estrofa sobre política”, concluyó.

* IMPACTS…There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can
wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A south to southwest swell will affect the
coastal waters through the week. With the longer period swell,
the potential for larger surf and a greater risk for rip
currents. High tides are expected to continue through this

some minor coastal flooding in low lying areas. Another concern

Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or

in such conditions, stay off the rocks.

Seek shelter inside a fully enclosed building or car with metal
roof if lightning is in the area and wait until the lightning has
left the area.
