ISLA VISTA, Calif. (KEYT) – Crews are working on a water rescue at Del Playa Drive near Window to the Sea Park in Isla Vista, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The water rescue first emerged just before 12:45 p.m. Sunday and the SBCFD urged citizens to avoid the area for adequate operating room for emergency personnel.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) – Santa Maria Police officers took three people into custody after a reported shooting and foot pursuit around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses heard gunfire and saw three people fleeing in a Dodge Durango, a car that officers later found at the 1000 block of W. Boone, according to the SMPD.

All three suspects then tried fleeing on foot and SMPD officers recovered firearms and shell casings as part of the evidence at the scene.

SMPD officers later identified one of the three as the reported shooter from witness statements, clothing descriptions and video evidence.

The case remains under investigation and those with further leads are asked to contact the SMPD.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) – Santa Maria Police helped a man to the hospital after a stabbing at a Santa Maria In-N-Out parking lot just before 7:00 p.m. Saturday.

SMPD officers found the 21-year-old with multiple stab wounds and later investigated the incident.

SMPD officers determined the stabbing did not happen at the restaurant but at the 200 block of E. Plaza Drive.

SMPD officers helped the man to Marian Regional Medical Center in critical condition and the investigation remains ongoing.

high tides (7pm to 11pm) Sunday night.
Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or
stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly
in such conditions, stay off the rocks.
