VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) – A Ventura woman was shot and killed Sunday morning and police are now investigating her death as a homicide.

The Ventura Police Department shared that the fatal incident is believed to have been an isolated incident at this point in its investigation and there is no broader threat to the community.

On July 19, around 3:24 a.m., a patrolling officer spotted an injured woman, later identified as a 34-year-old Ventura resident, near the intersection of West Ramona Street and Olive Street stated a press release Sunday from the Ventura Police Department.

The woman was gravely injured form an apparent gunshot wound and she was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where she died shortly after arrival shared the local law enforcement agency.

According to Ventura Police, as medical responders were heading to the scene, dispatchers began receiving calls reporting a shooting in the area and law enforcement personnel responded to the area to conduct an initial investigation of the incident.

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. (KEYT) – A Falcon 9 launch of 24 Starlink satellites destined for low-Earth orbit is scheduled from Vandenberg SFB on Monday, July 20, between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Pacific Time.

A live webcast of the launch will begin about ten minutes before liftoff. You can tune in to watch here or on SpaceX's X/Twitter account.

Following first-stage separation, the booster assigned to this mission will return to Earth to land on the Of Course I Still Love You drone ship awaiting in the Pacific Ocean.

A depiction of that launch sequence is shown in the image below.

There is the potential for one or more sonic booms to be heard across the local region during the launch process, but how far the sound travels will depend on weather and other conditions at launch time.

This will be the 23rd flight for the Falcon 9 supporting this mission which previously launched the following missions: USSF-62, OneWeb Launch 20, NROL-145, and 19 Starlink missions.

(CNN) — Ryan Fox took home the Claret Jug after draining a birdie putt on the 18th hole to win the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale on Sunday.

The 39-year-old Fox beat out American Cameron Young to win his first career major title, becoming only the third Kiwi to win a men’s major golf championship.

Impactos:
