El presidente de Chile, José Antonio Kast, anunció este lunes en la primera Cuenta Pública desde su llegada al poder que presentará un proyecto de ley para crear el “registro de vándalos e incivilidades”, el cual busca castigar a las personas que dañen o destruyan la infraestructura pública del país austral.

“Este registro permitirá que quienes hayan cometido delitos como atentar contra carabineros, el personal de los servicios de salud, la retención del transporte público, el tráfico de estupefacientes, el daño a monumentos nacionales, entre otros, respondan por sus hechos”, afirmó Kast ante el Congreso en Valparaíso, agregando que las personas en esta lista “perderán beneficios sociales como la gratuidad en la educación, la pensión garantizada universal o el subsidio de arriendo”.

“No basta con combatir el crimen organizado y la delincuencia, sino también, proteger a nuestros vecinos de aquellas conductas que van horadando nuestros barrios, que dañan nuestro patrimonio histórico y cultural, que alteran la tranquilidad de las familias y deterioran la infraestructura pública”, recalcó el mandatario chileno, añadiendo que “nadie que queme un bus, nadie que destruya lo público merece tener gratuidad en la educación. Nadie que destruya lo público merece tener una Pensión Garantizada Universal. Tiene que hacerse cargo de los destrozos que haga en nuestra patria y por eso digo que la mano va a cambiar”.

Esta iniciativa —que será presentada formalmente en los próximos días— fue una de las promesas de campaña de Kast en materia de seguridad, donde buscaba dar respuesta a la crisis de “desorden y violencia urbana que se expresa en turbazos, saqueos, rayados, tomas ilegales y agresiones a Carabineros”.

El fundador del Partido Republicano en Chile también advirtió que “hay conductas que no son constitutivas de delito, pero las tipificaremos como incivilidades, tales como la venta ilegal de alcohol, el consumo de drogas en la vía pública, los rayados sin autorización a la propiedad pública y privada, o la destrucción de equipamiento comunitario”, reafirmando que estas conductas “también darán lugar a la pérdida de los beneficios sociales”.

Kast asumió la presidencia de Chile el 11 de marzo de 2026, tras vencer en la segunda vuelta de las elecciones de 2025 a la candidata de izquierda Jeanette Jara. Reemplazó de esta manera al presidente Gabriel Boric, también de izquierda, marcando un giro en la política chilena.

En sus primeros tres meses de Gobierno, el líder derechista impulsó un paquete de medidas de “reconstrucción nacional y desarrollo económico” en medio de cacerolazos en Santiago y tuvo que reemplazar a su ministra de Seguridad Pública, Trinidad Steinert, y a la ministra vocera de Gobierno, Mara Sedini, en medio de críticas.

Durante la Cuenta Pública de este lunes se registraron también protestas de organizaciones sindicales y agrupaciones estudiantiles frente al Congreso en Valparaíso.

(CNN) — Darializa Avila Chevalier, a democratic socialist congressional candidate endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, deleted a previous Twitter account that included thousands of posts and reposts expressing support for abolishing police, prisons and borders, as well as seizing private property and nationalizing major industries and calling into question Israel’s right to exist.

Avila Chevalier, a 32-year-old investigator at a public defender’s office in New York City and doctoral student, has emerged as one of the most prominent left-wing challengers in the country after Mamdani endorsed her bid to unseat longtime Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat in New York’s 13th Congressional District.

But the posts from her since-deleted account from over the last decade have drawn scrutiny amid her high-profile challenge of Espaillat, a five-term incumbent and chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. That primary, scheduled for June 23, has become a closely watched proxy battle between the Democratic Party’s establishment and its ascendant democratic-socialist wing, with Mamdani’s endorsement last week elevating the race’s national profile.

While reports in the New York Post and Politico previously highlighted several deleted social media posts in which Avila Chevalier criticized police, Israel and Democratic politicians, a CNN KFile review of hundreds of deleted posts and reposts found ones that called for abolishing police, prisons and borders; tweets about communism; calls for open borders and zero deportations; and expletive-laden attacks on Democrats.

In a statement to CNN, Avila Chevalier said the posts did not reflect who she is today and accused Espaillat of trying to distract from issues facing the district.

“My opponent wants to live in the past. He is re-litigating social media posts from half a decade ago, and continuing to champion an outdated politics that fails to serve our people,” Avila Chevalier said. “I have grown considerably since in the years since these tweets, and I am focused on our community and our community’s future.”

In another statement provided to CNN, Mayor Mamdani reiterated his support for Avila Chevalier’s citing her work advocating for immigrants and working-class New Yorkers.

“In Congress, she’ll take on corporate greed, bad landlords, and D.C.’s broken political system. At a time when power is concentrated in fewer and fewer hands, Darializa will fight in Congress for New York City’s working families. She’s the champion we need for a city New Yorkers can actually afford.”

The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine saved more than 3,600 tweets from Avila Chevalier’s account between 2018–2022. It’s unclear when the account was deleted but the last archived tweet is from May 2022.

(CNN) — In the wake of FBI Director Kash Patel’s efforts to root out so-called weaponization in the agency, firing dozens of employees for their perceived bias, former agents set up their own group to help those struggling under the new leadership.

Former Assistant Special Agent in Charge Mike Feinberg said in a statement that the FBI Support Network will serve “to offer tangible assistance” to agents inside.

That help will include free legal representation, mental health services and assistance in finding jobs for those wanting to leave, according to a release announcing the group, which says it is adding “an army of former FBI officials who want to assist those inside.” The group is a part of “Justice Connection,” which has been offering similar assistance to Justice Department employees.

CNN reached out to the FBI for comment on the new support group.

Former FBI agents have sued Patel and the Justice Department over their ousting, arguing the firings were clearly political, did not follow FBI protocol and in some instances violated their constitutional rights.

In several lawsuits, agents say they have struggled to find other employment and have had their careers stripped from them for doing their job.

Patel has fired agents who worked on past investigations into Trump; agents who were captured kneeling during protests over George Floyd’s death; and others, including Brian Driscoll, who ran the agency for a brief time before Patel was sworn in.

In a video announcing the group, Driscoll, a member, said agents “facing these unprecedented times are not alone,” noting that it was time to help “the special agents, intelligence analysts and the professional staff who are under attack.”

Driscoll is also suing the agency over his termination in August after he worked to prevent the very layoffs Patel later oversaw.

Driscoll recently told CNN that while being vetted for the top job, he was asked a series of questions by incoming Trump officials about his personal politics, including whom he voted for, when he started supporting Trump, and whether he’d voted for a Democrat in recent elections. The questions alarmed him, he said.

“It’s time for those of us who also once carried credentials, badges, and sidearms alongside our FBI colleagues to offer tangible assistance when they are faced with the choice between an order and what they know is just, and to help them when they have to weather the consequences of upholding their oaths,” Feinberg’s statement said.

México ya conoce a los 26 futbolistas que representarán la bandera roja, blanca y verde en la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026, que comienza en solo 10 días, precisamente con la presentación del equipo que comanda Javier Aguirre ante Sudáfrica.

El “Vasco” cumplió con la lógica en muchos casilleros, pero en redes sociales generó mucho debate con la elección de algunos jugadores que no llegan en plenitud física, y la ausencia de algunos que habían sumado muchos minutos durante el proceso que terminó con los últimos amistosos.

El primer dato que sorprende de la lista de Javier Aguirre es el bajo número de defensores naturales, teniendo en cuenta que el “Vasco” suele jugar con cuatro en la última línea. Apenas convocó a siete, aunque es cierto que hay algunos mediocampistas que, llegado el caso, pueden pasar a la defensa.

También sorprende el número de delanteros, aunque aquí también es cierto que no queda claro cuál es el esquema favorito de Aguirre. En los últimos amistosos, ante Ghana y Australia, probó un 4-3-3 primero y un 4-2-3-1 después. Si bien algunos delanteros, como Alexis Vega, puedan retroceder unos metros para formar ese tridente de mediapuntas, la realidad es que no es su posición más habitual. Habrá que ver en el debut qué es lo que sale del laboratorio del DT.

Finalmente, Guillermo Ochoa entrará a la historia. El histórico portero irá a su sexto Mundial, marcando un récord de presencias, en conjunto con dos nombres que quizás les suenen de algún lado: Cristiano Ronaldo, con Portugal, y Lionel Messi, con Argentina. A ese nivel está el “Memo”.

El portero de 40 años (podría cumplir 41 en el torneo, si la Tri llega a semifinales) contrasta con otro nombre destacado de la lista: Gilberto Mora, quien con 17 años será el jugador más joven de la historia de los aztecas en la Copa del Mundo. El talentoso mediocampista ofensivo está acostumbrado: debutó en la Sub15 de México con solo 13 años, siete meses y 10 días de vida, y en la Sub20 con 16 años, cinco meses y ocho días. A pesar de su corta edad, ya es titular en el Tijuana de la Liga MX y tiene experiencia en todas las categorías juveniles de la selección y en la mayor, con el que ya jugó siete encuentros, incluyendo un título en la Copa Oro, donde hasta fue titular en la final ante Estados Unidos.

La lista de Aguirre generó cierta polémica por la elección de algunos que, por lo que se sabe, llegarán con poco rodaje al Mundial debido a lesiones que han sufrido en el último tiempo, como Edson Álvarez, César Huerta y Luis Chávez.

Álvarez jugo solo cinco partidos en 2026, principalmente debido a una cirugía de tobillo que lo sacó de las canchas por meses. Sin embargo, convenció a Aguirre en los últimos amistosos, donde sumó 45 minutos ante Ghana y 60 contra Australia.
