LOS OSOS, Calif. (KEYT) – On Thursday, 22-year-old Wayland Stronglee of Los Osos was arrested as part of an ongoing sexual assault investigation involving a minor he met online.

On July 16, a search warrant was served in the 2100 block of Fresno Street in Los Osos and, during the search, the 22-year-old Los Osos man was taken into custody and booked on charges of rape by force and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor stated a press release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, investigators have determined that Stronglee met the sexual assault survivor through social media before the alleged crime occurred.

Detectives are now turning to the public for help investigating Stronglee and believe there are more survivors that have yet to come forward the local sheriff's office shared with Your News Channel.

PASO ROBLES, Calif. (KEYT) – Teodulo Vasquezjumenez was convicted of 15 felony counts related to the sexual abuse of two children in Paso Robles between 2009 and 2023.

According to a press release Thursday from the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office, a local jury found the 41-year-old guilty of 14 counts of committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14 and one count of committing a lewd act on a 14-year-old child.

The jury also found that Vasquezjimenenz committed the crimes against multiple children and, as a result, he faces increased penalties during sentencing, including the potential for multiple life sentences detailed the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office.

The two survivors of Vasquezjimenez's crimes described the repeated sexual abuse they suffered over several years in Paso Robles during the trial shared the local prosecutor's office.

"This verdict reflects the courage of the victims who came forward and the careful, thoughtful work of our criminal and victim justice system," said District Attorney Dan Dow. "We are deeply grateful to the jury for their time, attention, and commitment to evaluating difficult and disturbing evidence. Their service ensured accountability and helps bring a measure of justice to the victims in this case."

Vasquezjimenez is currently scheduled for a sentencing hearing before Judge Rita Federman on August 11 of this year where he faces up to 280 years to life in state prison noted the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) - Twenty years and still going strong. That goes for the Deakyne marriage and their passionate support of U.S. Soccer during the World Cup.

In 2006 Tim and Jenny Deakyne of Santa Barbara spent their honeymoon in Germany attending U.S. men's soccer games during the World Cup.

Last month Tim and Jenny cheered on a 4-1 U.S. victory over Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

In between those twenty years their family has grown with six kids and now family vacations are often planned around World Cup host countries.

They have attended men's and women's World Cup matches in Germany, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, Qatar and of course the United States.

With this year's tournament on home soil, the Deakyne's did less traveling than usual but they did make it to all five matches involving Team USA with games in Los Angeles, Seattle and Santa Clara.

The 2027 Women's World Cup is Brazil and yes some members of the Deakyne family will be cheering on the United States in person.

(CNN) — A man who managed to slip past tight security at 30 Rockefeller Center and approached “Today” show co-host Craig Melvin was taken into custody Thursday morning, according to NBC News and a law enforcement official.

The person entered an unauthorized area in a vestibule near Studio 1A and approached Melvin, who alerted security, NBC’s “Today” show said in a statement.

“The individual was detained and taken into custody by law enforcement without further incident. There was no altercation, and no one was injured,” the statement said.

A law enforcement official told CNN the man allegedly lunged at Melvin and hurled a racial slur during the encounter.

Police identified the man as Andrew Truelove, 41, from Manhattan, according to an NYPD spokesman. He’s facing charges of burglary, menacing, criminal trespass and harassment — all as hate crimes — stemming from the incident, the spokesman said.

It is not yet known if Truelove has an attorney representing him in this “Today” show incident.

CNN has reached out to an attorney who represented Truelove in the past.

A few hours after the incident, Melvin thanked viewers for their concern and noted he was “just fine” in an Instagram post Thursday evening.

“I’ve heard from so many of you over the last few hours,” Melvin’s post said. “I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning.”

A uniformed officer assigned to 30 Rockefeller Center was alerted to a disorderly individual inside the building at approximately 8:57 a.m. and placed the person in custody without incident, according to the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information. No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains active and ongoing, the NYPD said.

The man was seen entering the lobby and passing through the gold doors into a staircase just before 9 a.m., a law enforcement official told CNN. He encountered Melvin in the staircase, and the two had a verbal exchange lasting at most about 10 seconds, the official said.

Melvin followed the man as he tried to walk out of the stairwell and alerted security, who grabbed him on the first floor, the official said. Security then notified an NYPD detail stationed outside 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and the man was taken into custody, the official said.

Investigators believe the man was initially looking for Al Roker before the encounter with Melvin, the official said.

Investigators are trying to determine how the man was able to breach the secured area and are combing through surveillance footage. They are also reviewing body-worn camera footage from the arresting officers, the official said.

“TODAY is cooperating fully with law enforcement as they investigate the matter,” NBC said in its statement. “NBC and TODAY take the safety and security of our employees, talent, staff and guests extremely seriously. We are reviewing the incident and our security protocols and remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for everyone who works at and visits our studios.”
