COSTA CENTRAL, Calif. - Good Samaritan activa protocolo de tormenta navideña en Santa Maria

La organización Good Samaritan se prepara para la semana de Navidad de 2025, activando su protocolo de tormenta.

Hace muchos años que la Costa Central no experimenta un clima así durante Navidad. Se esperan temperaturas bajas, especialmente durante la noche.

Los voluntarios de outreach recorren la ciudad y sus alrededores para informar a quienes podrían no saber que se acerca la tormenta.

Cada noche, de 6 p.m. a 6 a.m., los centros de Good Samaritan ofrecerán calor, comida y artículos básicos a quienes lo necesiten.

Mantente informado y toma precauciones mientras dure la tormenta.

Nueva subestación de la sheriff abrirá en Montecito

Montecito, CA – El condado planea abrir oficialmente una nueva subestación de la sheriff el próximo mes.

La subestación estará en el Rosewood Miramar, junto a la Autopista 101, facilitando el acceso a la comunidad.

Según Noozhawk, el Departamento de Planificación y Desarrollo del Condado emitió el permiso de construcción la semana pasada.

Los tiempos de respuesta lentos del sheriff llevaron a la necesidad de crear un nuevo punto de atención en Montecito.

Aunque no hay una fecha exacta de finalización, los equipos apuntan a concluir para finales de enero.

as well as the potential for power outages and property damage.
Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
The combination of strong winds and moist soils will increase the
risk for downed trees.
Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.
