Mexicali, BC (t3).- Un niño de tan solo tres años de edad, falleció al ser olvidado al interior de un vehículo en el fraccionamiento La Rioja, de acuerdo al reporte emitido a los números de emergencia, fue minutos después de la una de la tarde, cuando un familiar del pequeño reportó los hechos, al llegar paramédicos confirmaron que no contaba con signos vitales, la Fiscalía General del estado, confirmó que la madre del pequeño quién estaba a su cuidado esta detenida.

De acuerdo al titular del Servicio Medico Forense, César Vaca, el niño murió por golpe de calor, presentaba quemaduras de primer grado en algunas partes de su cuerpo derivado del calor, además de que pudo haber fallecido entre las nueve y diez de la mañana, estimaciones realizadas por la misma necropsia apuntan a que el menor pudo pasar hasta 12 horas al interior del vehículo.

Hasta la noche de este domingo, la madre continuaba detenida por omisión de cuidados.

Está claro que hace tiempo David Benavidez dejó de ser una promesa para convertirse en una realidad que retumba en cada división que pisa. El llamado “Monstruo Mexicano” firmó una de las actuaciones más impactantes de su carrera el fin de semana, al subir de categoría y destronar a Gilberto Ramírez en el peso crucero, con lo que le arrebató los títulos de la AMB y la OMB, dejando en el cuadrilátero una exhibición que confirma que su techo todavía está lejos.

El mexicano también ha reinado en el peso supermediano del CMB y en el peso semicompleto de este mismo consejo, por lo que ya fue campeón en tres categorías diferentes.

En el escenario del T-Mobile Arena, Benavidez ganó, dominó y noqueó. Subió cerca de 25 libras para asumir el reto y lo convirtió en una demostración de poder y velocidad pocas veces vista en peleadores de ese tamaño. Tardó apenas cuatro asaltos en mandar a la lona a Ramírez y terminó el trabajo en el sexto.

Más allá de los cinturones, lo que realmente construye la narrativa de Benavidez es la forma. Su estilo agresivo, con combinaciones incesantes y una presión asfixiante, ha hecho que cada una de sus peleas sea un espectáculo. La victoria ante Ramírez tiene un peso especial, ya que no era cualquier rival, sino un campeón consolidado que solo había caído ante Dmitry Bivol.

A sus 29 años, Benavidez ya se puede tomar en cuenta como un pugilista que está dejando legado y cuya ambición no tiene fronteras entre divisiones, ya que su objetivo siempre ha sido el de enfrentar a los mejores.

En su radar siguen nombres como Artur Beterbiev o el propio Bivol, y, por supuesto, la sombra de Saúl Álvarez sigue presente. Durante años ha sido uno de los combates más pedidos por los aficionados, aunque “Canelo” ha mencionado anteriormente no estar interesado. Benavidez no ha dejado de insistir, consciente de que ese enfrentamiento podría catapultarlo definitivamente al estrellato absoluto. Sin embargo, mientras ese momento no llega, el “Monstruo” sigue construyendo su propio camino con actuaciones que hablan por sí solas.

Incluso figuras históricas de este deporte han reconocido el talento del nacido en Arizona. Hoy, Benavidez ya está consolidado como un boxeador que genera expectativa, alguien que vende, que emociona y que, además, conecta con la afición.

El boxeo mexicano ha tenido múltiples rostros a lo largo de su historia, pero todo indica que una nueva etapa ha comenzado. En el centro de ella está David Benavidez, un pugilista que no pide permiso, que no negocia su estilo y que, de a poco, se está adueñando del protagonismo en este competido deporte.

(CNN) — A plane landing at Newark Liberty International Airport hit a streetlight and a tractor-trailer on the nearby highway on Sunday, injuring the truck’s driver, according to the New Jersey State Police.

The United Airlines Boeing 767, flying from Venice, Italy, was going more than 160 miles an hour when it crossed over the New Jersey Turnpike, just outside of the airport, according to flight tracking site Flightradar24.

A preliminary investigation shows a tire from the plane’s landing gear and the underside of the plane “collided with a pole and a tractor-trailer. The pole then struck a Jeep,” New Jersey State Police spokesman SFC Charles Marchan said in a statement. “The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.”

Dashcam video from the truck showed the driver traveling along the road as the sound of the plane’s engines grew louder. Suddenly, the plane’s landing gear tires struck the truck, shaking it and sending shards of glass flying.

Warren Boardley of Baltimore was heading north on the turnpike to deliver bread products to a Newark airport depot when the incident occurred, Chuck Paterakis, senior vice president of transportation for Schmidt Bakery and co-owner of H&S Family of Bakeries, told CNN.

Boardley sustained cuts to his arm from broken glass but did not suffer serious injuries and was able to pull over safely, according to Paterakis, who added Boardley is expected to be released from the hospital later tonight.

Patrick Oyulu was driving on the highway when he saw the low flying plane and felt a huge gust of wind go over him.

“It was just coming directly in front of the truck … I just saw smoke and debris,” he told CNN. “I think (the truck was) trying to evasively maneuver out of its way or something, but they were cornered.”

More than 200 passengers and 10 crew members were on board the plane, the airline said.

“The aircraft landed safely, taxied to the gate normally and no passengers or crew were injured,” United said in a statement. “Our maintenance team is evaluating damage to the aircraft.”

“We will conduct a rigorous flight safety investigation into the incident and our crew has been removed from service as part of the process,” United said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is sending an investigator to Newark and will analyze the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder as part of their investigation, the agency announced.

Runway 29, where the plane landed, starts less than 400 feet from the edge of the busy New Jersey Turnpike. It is not always used, but when wind conditions are right, it can see numerous landings, which can startle drivers as planes pass at low altitudes over the highway.

The pilots and air traffic control did not appear to be aware the plane had struck the light pole upon landing, according to recordings of air traffic control communications captured by LiveATC.net.

The 767 was given instructions to taxi to the gate as other aircraft continued to land on the same runway.
