OCEANO, Calif. (KEYT) – Crews helped an injured ATV rider to the hospital via helicopter following a rollover crash around 6:00 p.m. at the Oceano Dunes on Saturday, according to the CHP.

First responders determined the rider's injury needed a rapid airlift to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center after the crash, according to the CHP.

The CHP received help from CAL FIRE SLO, CA State Park officials and San Luis Ambulance in the response.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) – Santa Maria Police arrested a driver for DUI after a head-on crash at the Elm Street and Donovan Road intersection just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The drunk driver traveled east on Donovan Road before suddenly swerving into the westbound lane and crashing into another car travelling west, according to the SMPD.

First responders helped with minor injuries at the scene and SMPD officers later arrested the drunk driver on DUI charges.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) – Santa Maria Police are looking for new information on two arson incidents at separate apartment complexes just after 2:30 a.m. this morning.

The first arson incident occurred at the Twin Palms Apartments, where SMPD officers assisted in evacuating residents before Santa Maria Fire crews extinguished the fire.

A second potential arson came about an hour later at the St. Clair apartments, where SMPD officers again evacuated residents before SMFD crews put the flames out.

SMPD officers now seek more information or potential leads on the incidents and ask the public to contact either them or the city Fire Department if available.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A man died after a solo car crash off West Camino Cielo Road just after 9:30 p.m., according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Crash technology from the man's Toyota notified first responders about the crash before crews drove seven miles past the road's end and found his truck, according to the SBCFD.

The truck went about 300 feet over the side of the road and crews did not find anyone in the car during an initial search, according to the SBCFD.

Crews later found the man dead in steep terrain before a drone operator helped look for additional victims, according to the SBCFD.

SBCFD found no other victims, though the crash remains under investigation. Additional questions on the crash should be directed to the CHP.
